Description for B&B:

As native Dutch speakers, we are fluent in English, French, and German, so please feel free to contact us in your preferred language.

Located at 21 Rue des Halles, opposite the Council House of the enchanting medieval oyster harbor village of Mornac sur Seudre, the former Mayors house was originally designed for Mayor Rouffineau by architect Jean Buneau from the nearby trendy seaside resort of Royan. While Mornac retains its picturesque Celtic fishing village charm, this magnificent Charentais townhouse stands out with its architecture reminiscent of 19th century Paris.

The building, crafted with carved stone, exudes an elegant yet slightly worn charm, which the current owners take pride in preserving.

The Courtyard
A delightful walled courtyard at the back of the house serves as a charming spot to enjoy a generous breakfast, weather permitting. A large parasol shades a refectory table, creating the perfect setting for pre-dinner cocktails.

The Pool
Discreetly tucked away in the corner of the courtyard, a small swimming pool offers a refreshing escape for a dip whenever desired.

The Tea Garden
Across the pathway at the rear of the house, you'll find a lovely tea garden adorned with a mature cherry tree that blossoms with luscious cherries in May and provides welcome shade throughout the summer. Relax and enjoy afternoon tea on the classical garden furniture.

The Dining Room
Should the weather not permit an alfresco breakfast, our stylish Salle à Manger provides a cozy alternative. Furnished with a touch of Monsieur Rouffineau's intended style, it offers a comfortable space to dine.

The Library
Our well-stocked bookshelves offer an extensive selection of reading materials and information in various languages. La Bibliothèque is also a perfect spot for board games and card evenings, and our piano is available for accomplished amateurs to enjoy.

Review by: Famille charlet, Aou 13 2023 11:28AM
