Description:

Description for B&B:

Welcome to our guest room at the Old Castle, located in the heart of the Loire Valley. We are situated facing the magnificent Chaumont-sur-Loire castle and its beautiful garden festival. Our location in the village of Onzain offers easy access to nearby attractions such as Blois, Amboise, Chenonceau, Chambord, and Tours. The Onzain train station is conveniently served by the SNCF Paris-Tours line, making it easy to reach us by train. If you prefer to drive, the capital city is less than a two-hour journey away.

Our guest room is actually a spacious suite consisting of four rooms, totaling 70 square meters, with a private terrace located in the historic wing of the building. This floor, dating back over 500 years and boasting a wall thickness of 1.20 meters, was completely renovated in 2010. You will have complete independence and private access to the suite.

On the left side, you will enter a room adorned with historical artifacts and remnants from the old castle. This room is where breakfast is served in inclement weather. Climbing the stairs, you will find the main room, which is bathed in light from four openings on both sides and spans an area of over 25 square meters. On the moat side, a venerable stone staircase provides access to this room, as well as a small covered terrace nestled against the remnants of the 14th-century tower. Breakfast can be enjoyed on this terrace when the weather permits.

The spacious master bedroom features a comfortable 180-centimeter bed or two 90-centimeter beds. There is also a day bed that can accommodate a child. On the courtyard side, there is an office with a fireplace and TV, as well as a 90-centimeter bed (with an additional bed possible). On the moat side, there is a cozy living room followed by a dressing room, which includes another 90-centimeter bed. This area leads to the bathroom with a toilet and bath. Upon request, we can provide a cot and baby equipment.

Outside, our park, large terrace (220 square meters), and secure moat are perfect for leisurely walks. We even have a boat available for your use, allowing you to get closer to the swans and ducks that adorn our 5000 square meters of water. Please note that our four-legged friends are not allowed, as the moat is guarded by our two dogs, Willow and Weston.

Our guest room at the Old Castle is approved by "Gîtes de France" and is open year-round by reservation. During the season, you may have the opportunity to attend concerts and shows organized by the Association for Moats "The Arts of Helion". If you are our guest on a day of performance, you will be our special guest. If you are particularly interested in any of the furniture in your room, please inquire about purchasing it from the Museum-Gallery of the Old Castle.

Appréciations pour Les Douves, Onzain:

Sejour très réussi!
Review by: Exbrayat, Juin 30 2012 12:22PM
