Welcome to the "Takeyama" guest house, also known as "The Bamboo Mountain." This unique retreat is a testament to my deep love and appreciation for the stunning mountain landscapes and rich Japanese culture. At Takeyama, I strive to create an unforgettable experience for you, where you can immerse yourself in these passions. Whether you seek a relaxing getaway or a more adventurous vacation, our guest house offers a wide range of activities to cater to your preferences. From shopping in the picturesque ski resorts of Chamonix or Megève to exploring enchanting forests and lakes, or engaging in exhilarating climbing and skiing, there is something for everyone, regardless of skill level. Nestled in the quaint village of Domancy, surrounded by the majestic Mont-Blanc, Aravis massif, and the peak of Warens, our home draws inspiration from traditional Japanese guest houses, known as "Ryokans." With a perfect blend of modern design and the understated charm of these authentic establishments, Takeyama boasts natural materials like tatami mats, sliding wood doors, and antique Japanese furniture, creating a serene and inviting atmosphere. Une halte japonaise bien agréable
Une pause très agréable avant de passer le tunnel du mont blanc, mais pas forcément facile à trouver au départ. Très bon accueil, on est aux petits soins pour nous. Ceux qui adorent le Japon sont servis : meubles authentiques, futons, etc. tout y est pour s'y croire. La salle de bain, plus occidentale, est superbe. Notre hôte est un spécialiste des cerisiers japonais et parle le japonais ! Le petit déjeuner est bien copieux, et y'a qu'à demander pour en avoir plus... Bref, de très bons souvenirs pour nous.
Directions
Our guest house is located in the small village of Domancy, right in front of the Mont-Blanc. It offers a beautiful view of the valley and the surrounding plain. From our home, you can see three mountains: the massif of Aravis to the west, the peak of Warens to the north, and the Mont-Blanc to the east. We are conveniently situated about 6 km from Combloux, 24 km from Chamonix, and 10 km from Megève.
If you are coming by train, you can take the TGV high-speed train from Paris. However, please note that during the winter holidays, the TGV trains arrive at Saint Gervais les Bains railway station, which is only 7 km away from our guest house. From there, you can easily rent a car, take a taxi, or catch a bus. The nearest railway station, Sallanches, is just 3 km away. You can plan your journey by using the helpful link from SNCF: "http://www.sncf.com". Simply enter "Sallanches" or "Domancy" as your arrival destination.
Here are the distances and travel times to our guest house:
- 637 km (627 km by motorway) in 6 hours from Paris.
- 208 km (198 km by motorway) in 2 hours from Lyon.
- 66 km (57 km by motorway) in 45 minutes from Geneva, Switzerland.
If you are coming from motorway A40/E25, heading towards Chamonix, follow these directions:
- Take exit number 21 "Le Fayet - St Gervais-Les-Bains".
- At the first roundabout, continue straight ahead.
- At the next roundabout, turn right towards Sallanches.
- You will pass by some supermarkets on your right, keep driving straight.
- After about 300 meters on the road called "Route du Fayet" (A road/N205), turn left at the crossroad with a high cross.
- Then, take the first road on your right, a small road called "Route de la Viaz".
- Follow "Route de la Viaz" and make a left turn at the next turning.
- You will now be on "Chemin du Cart".
- Our guest house, Takeyama, is a short distance ahead on your left.
