Description for B&B:

Situated in Jonquières, just 6 miles away from the Orange antique theater and a mere 20-minute drive from Avignon, the Mas du Clos de lEscarrat is a charming stone farmhouse that embodies the traditional Provençal style. Its historical roots trace back to the 17th century, making it a unique and authentic accommodation option. While preserving its rustic allure, the bed and breakfast has undergone careful renovations to ensure modern comforts are met in all of its accommodations. The stunning view of Ventoux Mount adds to the breathtaking ambiance. The self-catering facilities provide guests with a comfortable and convenient stay.

Located close to Avignon and Chateauneuf du Pape, there are ample opportunities for exploring the renowned wine route and indulging in unforgettable wine tastings of Cotes du Rhone wines. The beautiful landscapes and lavender fields in the Luberon area offer a picturesque backdrop for tourism and visits in Provence. The Mas is nestled amidst Cotes du Rhone vineyards, providing a tranquil and secluded environment. The friendly owners, Charles and Andrée Barail, are fluent in English and occupy the main house. Additionally, there are two self-contained studio apartments and two larger two-bedroom apartments available for guests. Each guest apartment offers private facilities such as a WC, shower, and kitchen.

For convenient transportation, the Avignon TGV train can be reached from Paris in just 2 hours and 40 minutes, and from CDG airport in 3 hours. The Mas du Clos de lEscarrat has received positive reviews from TripAdvisor guests, with one review from Condé Nast Traveler describing it as the epitome of a Provencal rural fantasy brought to life.

Directions

Please be aware that for the privacy of our guests, we have intentionally chosen not to provide signage at the entrance of our driveway.

If you are arriving from the A7 motorway, take the Orange Sud exit (#22) and follow the signs leading to Avignon. Afterward, make a left turn onto the D950 road towards Vaison-la-Romaine & Carpentras. Disregard the initial sign for Jonquières and continue along the D950. When you reach a roundabout, follow the sign for Jonquières. Just before entering the village itself, take a right turn into the driveway named "Chemin de l'Escarrat" at the Mas. This driveway is located immediately after passing the Sotalis company, approximately 1 kilometer after the roundabout.

For those coming from Orange, proceed through the village of Jonquières towards Carpentras via Avenue de la Libération. Shortly before exiting the village, turn left into a driveway that is flanked by the walls of the Sotalis company. At the entrance of the road, you will notice a "dead end road" sign. The Mas is approximately 400 meters down this driveway.
