Situated along the banks of the Saleix, this location benefits from a pleasant and refreshing temperature during the hot summer months. The soothing sound of the flowing stream creates a serene ambiance, allowing you to leave the hustle and bustle behind and truly unwind on your vacation.

While there are several car parks available near the house, the cottage can be easily accessed by a short stroll through the historic district "Le Barri." This charming area derives its name from the old fortifications that once surrounded it. The absence of cars in the immediate vicinity makes the cottage an ideal choice for families with children or for those seeking a tranquil escape.

Many exciting activities await just a short distance from the lodge. The village is well-known for its location at the starting point of numerous hiking trails. Moreover, it is conveniently situated near the GR10, a famous hiking trail that spans across France from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, following the breathtaking Pyrenees mountain range.

Description for Gite

Located on the first floor, this charming gite boasts a cozy living room with a TV for your entertainment. Additionally, on this level, you will find the first single bedroom, offering picturesque views of the mountain and the tranquil stream that flows right in front of the house.

Ascending the stairs to the second floor, you will discover a second single bedroom conveniently connected to the shower/bathroom. Perfect for privacy and comfort.

At the front of the house, the double bedroom awaits, complete with a balcony that provides an awe-inspiring view of the valley, as well as the surrounding hills and mountains.

Step outside to the terrace, directly facing the house, furnished with a table, bench, parasol, and barbecue. This accessible outdoor space is ideal for delightful al fresco dining experiences. The soothing sound and refreshing breeze from the adjacent creek create a serene atmosphere, offering a sanctuary from the summer heat.

For nature enthusiasts, a short climb up the steps adjacent to the house will lead you to the forest trails, offering a multitude of exciting walks and adventures in the valley.

The Gite du Rocher is located in the charming historic area of Auzat village, nestled in the picturesque Vicdessos valley. It can be found at the base of Montcalm mountain, which stands as the highest peak in Ariège at an altitude of 3050m.

Reaching the gîte is convenient as it is easily accessible by car. If you prefer public transportation, the nearest train station, Tarascon-sur-Ariége, is only a 20-minute drive away. Additionally, we offer a pick-up service from the train station for your convenience.
