Discover our corner of paradise - We fell in love with Creysseilles over 30 years ago, captivated by its breathtaking mountain scenery, charming stone hamlets, and the authenticity and friendliness of its people. In 1985, we had the opportunity to acquire this nearly dilapidated former farm, which we have lovingly renovated over time. Situated on a ledge at an altitude of 700 meters, our one-hectare property offers a peaceful retreat for a night's rest or a few days of relaxation. Enjoy the tranquility, the stunning views, and the hiking trails in Creysseilles and the neighboring towns. This place is equally enchanting in every season - the blooming flowers and yellow broom in spring, the bearable summer heat by the pool with the sound of cicadas and the smell of freshly cut hay, the golden colors of the landscape in autumn, and the comforting warmth of the fireplace in winter after a walk, accompanied by a cup of tea and a slice of gingerbread or baked kougelhopf. Our house features two guest rooms on each side of our living space. Breakfasts and dinners, prepared by the lady of the house, are served in the dining room with its arches from the old stables, or on the terrace during the summer. We are delighted to welcome guests from May 1, 2013, and share our love for this charming corner of Ardèche. Martine and Jean-Paul Marchal, along with our pets: Allie and Mia (dogs), and Chestnut, Chatra, and Saddle (cats).

About the House - The oldest part of this farmhouse dates back to the 17th century and has been expanded over time to accommodate the needs of its inhabitants. It consists of three interconnected buildings, residential vaults, a covered porch, a bread oven, and a courtyard enclosed by a gate. The high walls have been lowered to provide a view and access to the pool. The land extends over 1 hectare of meadow and moor and features a garden that we restored 5 years ago, complete with a pond fed by a spring.

Nearby Activities - For those who enjoy walking or biking, there is a network of hiking trails and low-traffic roads that you can explore right from the house. Within an hour or two, you can discover the Huguenots' cave, an ancient stone-carved tomb, the church, the watchtower with its 360° view, or the Chirouze volcano. We have maps and guides of the area available and can provide recommendations based on your preferences. If you prefer to explore the area by car, Privas is just 15 minutes away, Aubenas is a 30-minute drive, Antraigues is 45 minutes away, Vallon Pont d'Arc is an hour away, and Mont Gerbier de Jonc is an hour and 15 minutes away. For those who appreciate local products, Privas offers chestnuts from Clement Faugier, charcuterie (stomachs, hams, dried mountain sausages), goat cheese (famous picodons), red Côtes du Rhône wines (Syrah, Merlot, etc.), and white wines (Chardonnay, Viognier, etc.).

Description for Gite

It features a cozy landing, a separate toilet, and a beautifully designed bathroom complete with a bathtub and shower.

Appréciations pour Les Chambres du Clair, Creysseilles:

Une semaine sereine et sympathique
Review by: Josette, Sep 20 2016 1:21PM
