Description:

Description for B&B:

The village of Morey is situated in the town of BELLEAU, positioned at an elevation of 305 meters above sea level on the slope of the Natagne valley, spanning from the eastern to the western side of the Moselle rating in the Massif of the great Romanesque couronné. The village is home to a population of around a hundred residents, locally known as the wolves. Within Morey, there stands a 12th-century church dedicated to St. Peter. Morey Castle, constructed in the 12th century upon the remains of a Templars monastery, was owned by the lords until the 14th century. It was then passed on to JEHAN TOULON Nomeny, who maintained control over the fortified house until the 17th century. From the beginning of the 1900s, Brassel JOLY MOREY took over, succeeded by George DUCROCQ (a writer). Unfortunately, in 1985, the castle was destroyed by fire and subsequently abandoned. When we arrived, only four walls remained, but through determination and bravery, we have managed to convert the space into five guest rooms, offering a picturesque environment surrounded by nature. Adjacent to the castle is a spacious garden, shielded by a towering wall exceeding 5 meters in height. The garden features a variety of trees such as chestnut, cedar of Lebanon, lime, copper beeches, oaks, maple, and even includes a duck pond.
