Description:

Description for B&B:

This charming late nineteenth-century manor was originally built by an industrialist during the flourishing textile era of the belle epoque. It embodies the architectural style of Lyon, with a simple and unobtrusive facade facing the road, allowing the magnificent hundred-year-old trees to showcase the industrious city of Tarare. Although Tarare may no longer be at the height of its prosperity, it has reinvented itself with new activities and is experiencing a renaissance, thanks in part to Gerflor.

The manor itself holds historical significance. In April 1943, during World War II, it was surrounded and attacked. The then-owner, Albert Giron, who was a leader in the resistance, managed to escape quietly through the park and ultimately brought an end to the war in the town below.

We have transformed this magnificent estate into a bed and breakfast, offering four guest rooms and reception rooms for celebrations. The ambiance is reminiscent of a theater, as the large house sits on the outskirts of town, surrounded by a shaded park and a tranquil duck pond. Guests can enjoy breakfast in the manor's dining room, as well as traditional Lyon cuisine for dinner at our table d'hôtes.

Conveniently located near the A89 motorway (Tarare Center exit), we are a mere 35-minute drive or train ride from Lyon, making it easy to explore the capital of Gaul and indulge in its renowned gastronomy. Additionally, we provide a private enclosed car park and offer WiFi for our guests' convenience.
