Located on a quiet side lane with a view of the river and its bridges, the house is centrally situated in the most historic area of Confolens. This prime location allows easy access to the town's charming bars and restaurants, which are either right on our doorstep or just a short, picturesque walk away. Guests can leave their car parked and fully immerse themselves in the friendly ambiance of the town without worrying about taxi journeys.

For added safety, every bedroom and living room window is equipped with a garde corps, a traditional and attractive French balcony guard.

We have designed this French holiday let to provide everything you would expect for a self-catering stay. You can enjoy dining and relaxing at home, utilizing the fresh and delicious organic produce often sold by local gardeners at one of the market days in town or within the region. Just 200 meters from our door, there is a beautiful public park and picnic area located on the river Vienne. This area features a sandy beach zone during the summer season, making it an ideal spot for picnicking and enjoying the outdoors. Additionally, boat hire is available here during high season for those who wish to explore the river further.

A short walk up the river will lead you to Confolens' own open-air swimming pool, offering water flumes and stunning countryside views. This is a fantastic way to enjoy the glorious summer in the Charente region, which boasts second only to the Cote d'Azur for sunshine hours and temperatures. Soak up the sun, take a refreshing swim, and don't forget the sun cream!

Our location in the ancient town of Confolens, known for its romantic charm, provides a central base for exploring this beautiful area. Confolens is approximately a 40-minute drive from Limoges airport, which is served by Ryanair with flights from several UK airports. The airport is small and efficient, allowing for a hassle-free start to your holiday. Once on the roads, despite driving on the opposite side to the UK, you will find them relaxing to travel on with less traffic and population.
