Description for B&B:

Welcome to the Cotentin! We invite you to experience the warm and welcoming atmosphere of our charming old farmhouse. Once home to agricultural activities until the 1980s, we have carefully preserved its authenticity while ensuring modern comforts for our guests.

With our extensive knowledge and passion for the region, we are delighted to guide you to the remarkable sites that abound in the area. Whether it's along the beautiful coastline, in the marshes or groves, or through the rich local history, particularly the events related to World War II, we are eager to share our insights.

Martine is fluent in both English and German, ensuring clear communication and a comfortable stay for international guests.

We offer two spacious rooms, both equipped with Wi-Fi:

- The first room, with a garden view, can accommodate two or three people. It features a comfortable 160 cm bed and an additional 90 cm bed. We can also provide an extra bed if needed. Just two meters away, on the landing, you will have access to a private bathroom with a toilet.

- The second room is a family suite that can comfortably accommodate four people, but can also be booked for two. It comprises a cozy double room with a 160 cm bed and an en-suite bathroom with a toilet. Additionally, there is a small children's room with two 90 cm beds.

Each morning, we serve a delicious breakfast in our dining room, complete with an old fireplace. You can expect a range of options including fruit juices, coffee, tea, or hot chocolate, accompanied by freshly baked bread and pastries, homemade jams, dairy products, fruits, and cereals.

For your relaxation, the first floor offers a mezzanine that can be used as a lounge area. Here, you can enjoy a cup of coffee, tea, or herbal tea, which are always available.

Our farmhouse boasts a front and back garden with comfortable furniture, allowing you to fully enjoy the outdoors. From mid-morning until evening, you can bask in the sun and create pleasant memories. Children are welcome to use the playset under the supervision of their parents.

We also provide baby equipment (cot, baby bath, high chair) and ironing facilities upon request. Your comfort is our priority.

Come and experience the Cotentin's charm and hospitality at our delightful farmhouse. We look forward to welcoming you!

Appréciations pour Les Grandes Portes, Flottemanville:

A delightful stay
Review by: Scott LeCraw, Juin 19 2019 3:10PM
Our party of five had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at Les Grandes Portes, a B&B owned and operated by Martine and Serge. The house is very nicely located for a visit to the beaches of D-Day, being 15 minutes from Sainte-Mère Église and 20 minutes from the landing beaches.

They have two rooms, one of which is actually a suite with a small bed room attached. That worked very well for us as our group of five was actually two families. My wife and I took the Azurine room, which has a queen bed and a single. Her sister took the Viaelis room, which has a double bed and then two singles in the attached room, all of which worked very well for her and her two older children.

Martine is fluent in English, which was good since only two of our party had any French at all. We found her and Serge to be a lot of fun to be with and to be very attentive to our needs. They had a very nice continental breakfast laid out for us every morning, including one morning when we were headed to a special event and asked for breakfast at 4:30 AM!

While I don't know if another trip to Normandy is in my future, if it is, I will be staying at Les Grandes Portes!
