Discover Vernet Sainte Marguerite, a picturesque village perched over 1000 meters above sea level. It rests amidst the breathtaking landscapes that give rise to the Monne river and mark the transition from the southernmost volcano in the chain of Puys to the towering slopes of Sancy. Ascending the D5 road towards Sancy offers a never-ending feast for the eyes, with the plateau of Vernet Sainte Marguerite serving as a true test for adventurous drivers in winter.

This charming cottage, classified as 3 stars and accommodating 4 people, is perfectly situated for hiking enthusiasts. It serves as an ideal base camp for those eager to explore both the volcanic craters and the peaks of the Massif roof Central.

The house itself boasts a beautiful slate roof, exuding an atmosphere of "raw wood and animal skins" complemented by antique decor. From old boxing gloves to vintage squash racquets and even old transistor horns hanging as trophies, the owner's collection adds a touch of nostalgia. Modern comforts are discreetly integrated, with a pellet stove tucked between the hutch and buffet, a cozy couch, and a TV screen hidden in a cabinet joinery that harkens back to a time when the ORTF was in its early stages. The kitchen, with its open counter leading to the dining room, may have a touch of nostalgia but lacks a dishwasher.

To chase the sun, breakfast can be enjoyed on both the deck and the balcony, offering sweeping views of the charming and rural heritage of Vernet Sainte Marguerite. Take in the village church, the square with its monument to the soldiers of past wars, the town hall, the fountain, and the wash house where you may even catch a glimpse of women still doing their laundry. In the distance, admire the majestic Puy Allou.

Ascend the wooden staircase to the attic where you'll find the sleeping area, with two bedrooms - one featuring a double bed (140) and the other with two single beds (90). The bathroom and toilet are conveniently located in the living room.
