Welcome to MiKa-GaLe in Ploerdut, a charming 3-bedroom longere nestled on 1.75 hectares of private garden and land. This cozy accommodation comfortably sleeps 6 people, with the possibility of special arrangements for larger groups.

MiKa-GaLe is located in a tranquil and rural setting on the outskirts of Ploerdut village. Surrounded by picturesque rolling hills and serene wooded valleys carved out by the Ellé, Scorff, and Aër rivers, this location offers a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. The surrounding countryside features an extensive network of footpaths, perfect for walking, running, and cycling. Bird-watching, photography, drawing, and painting are also popular activities here.

The area is rich in history, with numerous monuments, churches, chapels, and medieval villages that have preserved their timeless charm. Ploërdut village itself is centered around a beautiful medieval church and offers convenient amenities within walking distance, including a boulangerie, crêperie, bars, eatery, and self-service shop.

Within a half-hour drive, you can explore a multitude of interesting attractions, such as the mysterious Chapelle St. Barbe, St. Fiacre, Le Faouet market hall, Les Rochers Du Diable for white water kayaking, the scenic Vallee-du-Scorff perfect for picnics, and Lac de Guerladan for boating on its tree-shaded beach. Additionally, there are various local street markets to discover, including Hennebont, Rostrenen, and Vannes on Wednesdays.

The traditional Breton stone longere has been fully renovated while preserving its unique character features, such as exposed beams, wooden floors, stone fireplace, French doors, shutters, gabled windows, and exposed stonework.

The ground floor features a fully equipped modern kitchen with all the necessary appliances, a spacious dining room, and a cozy lounge room. The lounge is furnished with comfortable sofas and armchairs, a TV/DVD with British free view channels, a CD player, and a wide selection of DVDs, CDs, books, and board games. A central feature is the log wood-burner, creating a cozy atmosphere. French doors open to the garden and sun terrace, providing scenic views and easy access for outdoor dining and sunbathing. Sun loungers and outdoor furniture are available for your use.

The ground floor also includes a laundry area with a modern washing machine and dryer, as well as a utility room with a vacuum cleaner, iron, ironing board, and clothes hanger. A toilet is also conveniently located on the ground floor.

On the first floor, three beautifully decorated bedrooms await, each equipped with its own ensuite bathroom featuring a shower, toilet, and vanity. Two bedrooms offer double beds, while the third bedroom has two single beds. One of the bedrooms also includes a sofa bed, and additional fold-away beds can be provided if needed. Every bedroom offers magnificent views of the garden and surrounding countryside.

MiKa-GaLe is well-insulated and features central heating throughout, ensuring a comfortable stay in any season.

The large garden is divided into separate areas, including tranquil lawned spaces under old apple trees and areas perfect for summer BBQs. The extensive and enclosed garden is ideal for children, with plenty of safe and open areas to run, play, and explore. The property also boasts an orchard with apple, pear, plum, and apricot trees, and guests are welcome to enjoy the delicious fruits. Private on-site parking is available.

Rates for MiKa-GaLe are based on a Saturday change-over day. Weekly bookings are preferred, but shorter stays can be arranged with the owners. A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking, with the balance of payment and a security/damage deposit due one month before arrival.

Rates include a welcome basket of local goodies, all linen and towels, heating, gas, electricity, logs for the wood-burner during the winter season, a 'meet and greet' service by the property manager, and end-of-stay cleaning. Please contact the owner to confirm rates and availability.

Directions

The airports in Brittany, listed in order of proximity, are Lorient, St. Brieuc, Dinard, Brest, and Rennes. From any of these airports, you can then drive to the house.
Alternatively, you can take a train from Paris to Rennes, Vannes, or Lorient, and then drive to the house.
The drive from Paris airports to the house takes approximately 5 hours on the motorway, with a toll of around 25 Euros.
If you prefer to travel by ferry, the nearest ports are Roscoff (1.5 hours away), St. Malo (2 hours away), Caen (3 hours away), and Cherbourg (4 hours away).
To easily find the house, simply enter Poulmarvezen into your GPS and it will guide you straight to the front gate.
