This business is currently for sale, please contact the owners for more information.

As you drive through the picturesque Charente countryside, adorned with sunflower fields and sweetcorn, you may stumble upon the charming village of Verteuil, just 5 minutes south of the bustling market town of Ruffec. With the river Charente flowing under the walls of the 15th century chateau, the tranquil village boasts 3 cafe/bars, 2 restaurants, bakers, butchers, a general store, pharmacy, and more.

Entrance and courtyard:
Upon entering through the grand old farm gates, you'll find yourself in a private courtyard surrounded by high walls. In the summer, the courtyard is adorned with stunning hanging baskets and flower arrangements. At the back of the courtyard, there is a spacious open barn that provides secure, undercover parking for up to 6 cars.

Accommodation:
Our self-contained, converted barn offers 3 spacious and en suite bedrooms, along with a communal kitchen dining area. The barn still retains many of its original features, including exposed beams, dressed Charantaise stone, and even an original feeding trough. All rooms come with central heating.

Bedrooms:
Each of the three bedrooms is equipped with an en suite bathroom, complete with a shower, hand washbasin, and toilet. Additionally, every bedroom offers ample storage space with wardrobes and drawers. English to French electric adapters, a hairdryer, and a radio/CD alarm are also provided. Rooms are serviced daily, with towel changes if requested. Shampoo, shower gel, and soap are provided, and a baby cot or supplementary camp bed can be added to any of the rooms upon request.

Ground floor family room - Features a double bed, 2 wardrobes, and a sitting area with easy chairs, a coffee table, and a settee that converts into a double bed for families.

1st floor double rooms x 2 - One room offers a double and single bed, while the other has a double bed. Both rooms include a dressing table, easy chairs, and built-in wardrobes.

Dining kitchen:
We understand the importance of having facilities for making hot drinks, preparing picnics, or even cooking a meal while staying in bed and breakfast accommodations, which is why we have included a fully fitted kitchen for the exclusive use of our guests. The kitchen is equipped with a four-ring electric hob and oven, a microwave oven, a fridge, a kettle, a coffee percolator, a slow cooker, a toaster, a steamer, a full set of pots, pans, casseroles, and utensils, as well as crockery, glasses, and cutlery. The dining table can seat up to 8 people. Guests are welcome to help themselves to complimentary tea and coffee at any time. The kitchen area also offers English TV with all the FreeView channels, a wide selection of board games and videos, as well as information on local attractions and places to eat. WIFI internet access is available in all rooms.

Laundry facilities:
We have a separate laundry area equipped with washing, drying, and ironing facilities, should you need them.

Whether you're house hunting or simply looking for a relaxing break, we are here to assist you. If you're in the market for a new home, we are more than happy to share our knowledge and answer any questions you may have about the buying and renovating process, as well as integrating into French life. For those seeking a relaxing getaway, we can provide advice on local attractions and places to visit.

Sun Terrace and Garden:
The French doors from the kitchen lead out to the East facing sun terrace, which features a covered gazebo where you can enjoy your breakfast in the morning sunshine during the summer months. The lawned garden boasts a pergola walkway on three sides and enjoys sunlight from early morning until late afternoon.

Appréciations pour Les Bruyeres, Verteuil sur Charente:

TR3 recalcitrante..!!!!
Review by: jean Marie, Juil 10 2018 5:07PM
Excellente adresse
Lovely !

My husband and I stayed here for 3 days while looking for a house to buy Fabulous location overlooking the Charente. To have a full kitchen at ones disposal in a B&B is rare and very much appreciated. We were given lots of useful information regarding the area and before we left had bought a house in the village. Thank you Adam and Jan for such an enjoyable comfortable stay.

Unobtrusive hosts Jan and Adam were welcoming, friendly and informative. A relaxed and laid-back manner is the signature of their business. On-site parking was important to us as was the proximity of the property to the attractive centre of Verteuil. A three or four minute walk across two little bridges spanning the Charente river and you're there! Our accommodation was bright, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Many guests return to Les Bruyeres time and again and my wife and I will be following suit. Highly recommended.
parfait !
