Description for B&B:

Casa Marta is a charming 18th-century stone building situated in the picturesque village of Pascoso, nestled in the Apuane Park, 2321 feet above sea level. With its three floors, each spanning approximately 325 square feet, this house offers ample space for a comfortable living experience.

The layout of the house includes a well-equipped kitchen/living room, two cozy bedrooms, a full bathroom, a convenient powder room, and two pantries. While there is no lawn, the downstairs bedroom opens up to a lovely area just outside the French doors, where you can enjoy a small table, sunshade, and chairs.

There are two entrances to the house - the front door leading to the kitchen/pantry, and the back door providing access to the downstairs bedroom. As the house is nestled on a hill, it features three floors on one side and two on the other.

Casa Marta is fully furnished with a delightful mix of new and antique Tuscan pieces from the 19th century. The light fixtures exude elegance, and for entertainment, we have provided a satellite television, radio, and CD player. While a telephone is not currently installed, there is a public phone available in town, and our office provides access to telephone, computer, and internet facilities.

To ensure your comfort, a central heating system fueled by gas has been installed. And of course, what would a mountain house be without a working fireplace? The second floor boasts a beautiful fireplace, completing the cozy atmosphere of Casa Marta.

Description for Gite

Pascoso is a haven for nature enthusiasts, offering an immersive experience in the stunning natural surroundings. While it is nestled in nature, it is also conveniently located near the renowned Tuscan cities of art such as Lucca, Pisa, Florence, and Siena, as well as the famous beaches of Forte dei Marmi and Viareggio, all within a 30-mile radius.

Moreover, this charming house is within an hour's drive of several of Italy's most picturesque golf courses, including Golf Alisea, Montecatini Golf Club, Club Golf Montelupo, Tirrenia Golf Club, Cosmopolitan Golf & Country Club, and Golf Club Fontevivo.

Pascoso is truly a paradise for hikers, with numerous mule paths suitable for mountain biking and horseback riding, both of which can be rented locally. Some hiking trails require a short drive to the starting point, while others can be accessed directly from your doorstep. Off-road vehicle enthusiasts will also find endless opportunities to explore.

For fishing enthusiasts, a section of the Turrite Stream is reserved for fishing, with abundant trout, although they may not grow to large sizes due to low water levels. In Pascoso, you will only hear the sounds of barking dogs and friendly conversations among the locals, as peace and tranquility reign in the mountainside. The area is perfect for hiking, horseback riding (with two nearby barns offering horse rentals), and mountain biking.

Directions

To get to Pascoso, you need to first arrive in Lucca. If you are coming from North Italy (Milan) or South Italy (Rome), you will reach Florence (heading South or North respectively) and then take the motorway towards Pisa North (Pisa Nord). After about 50 kilometers (35-40 miles), you will reach Lucca. Take the Lucca West (LUCCA OVEST) or Lucca East (LUCCA EST) exit to leave the motorway. In Lucca, take the state road 12 (SS 12) towards Abetone/Garfagnana, following the road signs. After about 5-6 kilometers from Lucca, you will reach Ponte a Moriano. Turn left and continue following the direction of Abetone/Garfagnana. There will be four tunnels, and after the fourth tunnel, turn right towards Borgo a Mozzano. After approximately 2 miles, you will reach Diecimo, which is a 5-minute drive. 200 meters after the road sign for "Diecimo," you will see a Tamoil gasoline pump on the left side of the road. Another 100 meters ahead, turn left towards Pescaglia as indicated by the road sign. There is only one asphalt road, which will lead you to Pescaglia (8-10 km from Diecimo) and then Pascoso (6-7 km from Pescaglia).
