This location is truly unique, as it was one of the earliest ocher works in l'Yonne, dating back to around 1760. At that time, yellow ocher was extracted and transported by barge to Paris and Amsterdam, where it was utilized in the production of oil paint. This farmhouse is a testament to the rich history and significance of the quarry from which this precious pigment was sourced.
